UTMSPACE offers opportunities for interested foreign higher education providers to deliver UTM programmes at their institutions through transnational education. It focuses on two types of provision:
- Articulation – Mode of collaboration where students from international partner is guaranteed admission into UTM with further qualification. Examples of articulation arrangement include 1+3 mode (1 year of study at international partner, 3 years of study in UTM), or 2+2 mode (2 year of study at international partner, 2 years of study in UTM). Students who have completed their studies at their home institution can go to UTM to continue their studies in order to qualify for a degree at UTM. The curriculum and programme assessment will be evaluated and monitored by UTM to ensure that students obtain the foundation required to qualify for a UTM degree. Other types of articulation are allowed. Articulation involves exemption of UTM programme on the basis of qualification and/or credit transfer from an academic programme that has been carried out prior to admission into UTM, as agreed in agreement.
- Franchise – UTM agrees to provide authority to manage delivery and partial programme assessment to international partner(s) (as franchisee). UTM is fully responsible on quality assurance processes and procedures for programmes that are franchised to international partner(s). The curriculum franchised must be the same as academic programme delivered at UTM.
- Hybrid – UTM can arrange to collaborate with international partner(s) through a combination of franchise and articulation mode.
Other conventional international programmes (short courses, professional development programmes, summer schools, etc) are also available upon request.
